About Blue Route:
-
Blue Route lets you view web pages on your iPad via your iPhone's 3G cellular connection! They said you can't get there from here, but you can now, with Blue Route :)
Using Blue Route:
-
To use Blue Route, simply start the App on your iPhone or Edge/G3 enabled iPad - this device will run in SERVER mode, as noted on the green status bar at the top of the app, and will also be noted at the top of the menu.
Then, start Blue Route on your iPad - it will start in CLIENT mode, as noted on the blue status bar at the top of the app (and at the top of the menu as well).
Both devices will be searching for each other, and once you see they have found each other, simply tap on the desired server or client to pair them up and start browsing.
There are no settings that you need to change to use Blue Route, but there are a few options you may set. You will find them by choosing Settings from the menu
. You will find a "Restore Defaults" button on the Settings Screen should you need it.
In the Settings you may choose to force the program into CLIENT or SERVER mode should you need or desire the option.
Adding pages to the queue:
-
You add pages to the queue by browsing on the server. By default all pages you browse are stored for use on the client.
Just the pages you want: You may turn off -Always Save Pages- in the Settings menu
. This will allow you to only save the pages you desire. When -Always Save Pages- is turned off you will have an icon
next to the address bar that will save the currently viewed web page.
Several pages at once: You may enter a list of pages in the address bar, seperated by commas, to pull several pages into the queue. The first page in the list will be displayed and all pages will be stored. (ex. cnn.com,spicyclam.com,usatoday.com)
Pages can be pulled on the server by entering into the address bar, or by clicking normally on the web page.
The Queue:
-
You can edit the web page queue from either the client or server to accomplish a variety of things.
Change download order: Drag items higher in the list to have them download first.
Stop a current download: Delete an item to stop it from downloading and remove its files.
Rearrange the list: Move items after they are download to keep items you need most near the top.
You may also choose -Delete All- from the menu
to empty the queue and free up space.
The Client:
-
On an iPad client, you may click on the full screen browser icon
to view stored pages.
Only the server is permitted to access the web and the client device may only view the pages that have been downloaded. At this time there is no clicking or web page requesting from the client device due to legal restrictions. We are working to surmount these and will provide updates with these capabilities and others as we are allowed.
